Alison’s voice is known to the nation as Elizabeth in The Archers, a role she has played since 1984. Her career began as a child performer and her earliest appearances were in the films Bugsy Malone and Tommy and the TV shows Emmerdale, Crossroads, The Bill. She appeared the West End in The King and I and Once A Catholic. More recently she has played Flo in Humans and Jenny Mordin in Casualty. She works extensively as a voice artist, in games such as Warhammer and Ruby Rei, audiobooks such as His Dark Materials, and in numerous dubbing and ADR roles. Alison won the 2019 mind media award for best mental health storyline in tv and radio drama, following her storyline in The Archers.
