Happy ho-ho-holidays! With the presents under our trees stacking up (and our chocolate consumption growing by the day) the Voice Squad office is getting ready for the Christmas break.
We’ll be closed from 2pm on the 21st December and will reopen at 9am on the 2nd January. But before we close, we have a Christmas voiceover message from our artists to share...
It’s been a bumper year for new voices; in the last twelve months, we’ve taken on eleven new exclusive artists! Welcome on board to Brian Bovell, Alexander Capon, Max Dinnen, Kyle James, Rebecca Lee, Steve Dan Mills, Amy Noble, Sophia Nomvete, Jack James Ryan, Niamh Shepheard, and Theo Solomon. They are already proving themselves great additions and we can’t wait to see what they do in 2019!
Although we had many great moments this year, we were also deeply saddened to lose our long-serving artist Laurence Kennedey. Laurence had been with the agency for nearly nineteen years, and both his friendship and his distinctive voice will be much missed.
Our Work This Year
The wonderful work our artists have been doing can be heard in all sorts of places! As well as ELT and corporate work, our artists' voices have been used to promote everything from dairy farms to handbags. They have brought your favourite TV shows and movies to life, working on projects such as Doctor Who, Vikings, Killing Eve and Mary Poppins Returns. They gave voices to the forgotten in Peter Jackson’s They Shall Not Grow Old, and you’ll no doubt hear them many times over the Christmas television schedule!
When a little game called Assassins Creed Odyssey appeared on the scene, we were delighted that so many of our artists joined the project. We’ve also done game voice work on Pillars of Eternity II, Star Ocean: Anamnesis, and many others.
We’ve made (audio)waves in the audiobook world, with our artists narrating bestsellers from Sebastian Faulks, to Joanne M Harris and James Patterson. Our Kobna Holdbrook-Smith also became one of the voices of Audible’s Dickens collection alongside other big-name narrators.
A Christmas Voiceover from our Artists
So, from all of us here, thank you to all our hard-working artists for a great 2018.
We’ll let them have the final say…
